As it’s the start of Feeding Tube Awareness week I thought I would share my story. I used to sell reusable items in a local craft store and was approached by a lady who asked me to make a G tube pad because she had seen my reusable breastfeeding pads. I contacted my friend Sam who has a tube fed son and together we designed the very first Tubie Pad with her valuable expertise and experience. This is when Groovy Tubies launched! Not only did I make a Tubie Pad but together Sam and I designed a belt that met her child’s needs and then step by step we introduced new items that she found useful in every day Tubie life.
“I don’t know what we would do without the Groovy Tubies range now. The items we need are custom made to Otis’ needs to a high standard. The days when he used to get upset and scratch due to taping the tube to his skin daily are long gone and instead he wears Groovy Tubies items, he is comfortable and looks so trendy. Dressing him daily in the Groovy Tubies range puts a smile on my face and reminds me that something we first saw as difficult to come to terms with for our child due to his extra new care needs, has been turned into a positive and we love these fashion items that have a practical solution for our Son’s needs”
